Sugary foods and injections

Written on the 1st of August, 2025

So, this morning it was time for my second dose of estrodiol. I didn't want to do it on an empty stomach though, so I for some reason decided that it would be a great idea to eat a sugary chocolate muffin right before I did it. This of course increased my heart rate because sugar. I would have otherwise been fine with my self injection, but the sugar running through my body basically amplified whatever little anxiety/worries/fears I had by a factor of ten, so it basically triggered my fight or flight response right after I finished with the injection.

I basically hurried to get the bandage on and rushed to the bathroom, because I honestly thought I would throw up. Luckily, I didn't throw up, but I felt horrid for a few minutes. It felt like I had pins all over my body, and I had to lie down for a bit. After I got through that… interesting experience, I made a note to myself to not eat anything heavy/sugary right before my injections, unless I want this to happen again. I'll probably end up eating like a slice of bread, or some crackers just to fill my stomach a bit beforehand, and then after I'll make a proper meal (and no prim, sugary shit does NOT count, be healthy).

So yeah, don't do what I did.
