My thoughts on the 2024 US Presidential Election Results

It looks like the unthinkable has happened folks. Democracy has spoken, and the people have chosen Donald Trump as the next president of the United States. This was no electoral college blip like his last victory, no, he not only won that, but he also won the popular vote.

When our fellow Americans were given the choice between a prosecutor and a felon with fascist tendencies, they chose the fascist felon.

When I was speaking with others on why in the hell Americans would possibly want what our fellow Europeans dealt with during WWII, one of the things I heard about was the failure of our public education system as a country. When putting that, and our election results for this year side by side, it does bring things into perspective. We have one of the most terrible public education systems out of any developed nation in the world, and the quality/contents of educational curriculum around the country vary greatly depending on where you are here. The failure of our public education system has left many Americans, especially those out in rural areas (which is most of America, let's be honest here) uninformed, gullible, and easily persuaded/brainwashed.

All of this, paired with Donald Trump's campaign fueled by fear and hatred, created a sense of urgency that something must be done, and fast, as if their lives were somehow in danger. Because of all of this, Americans genuinely liked what he was selling them. They liked the xenophobia, casual racism, homophobia, transphobia, and his promise for radical, fascist, violent change, by any means necessary.

Don't be surprised when this country ends up undergoing radical right wing changes on all levels and branches of the government, similar to Nazi Germany. Because of the mistake of 74,484,950 million voting Americans this election (at the time of writing this), we will all be paying the price, sooner, rather than later.

For those who voted for Donald Trump, whether it be because you genuinely liked what he was selling, or you willingly ignored all the warning signs of a radical fascist dictator, I hope you enjoy your new government, full of retribution, hatred, and unspeakable horrors soon to come.
